The Indian Premier League (IPL) was initiated in 2007 to advance home cricket to global stages. This form of cricket is first organized by the eight cricket teams in March and May each year.

The IPL has selected the top player from various cities to form domestic cricket teams. Difference between BBL and IPL tournament
